Fragment of the Moon( 月の片, Tsuki no Kakera ) was artist Honda Kiku's debut album, released in May2007. It was pre-prepared by Honda before he had moved to the United States and featured heavy electronic and rock influence with an "overlaid" voice effect. It featured two singles, "Itsumo" and "Man in the Moon". It was met with mixed English reviews, though popular in his home country of Japan and underground circles in the USA. It hardly broke the top 100, at a not-so-staggering 76. Some critics state that the reason for its lack of popularity was both that he was new and foreign; the album was a mix of Japanese and English tracks. Others state that it was simply the style of music that was unappealing. It did, however, gain him enough recognition for some to consider him an "artist on the rise" and for him to find himself being asked for pictures.
